One fun day on a weekend I went to my cousin’s house in Texas. It was a long trip though. Let me tell you how it went. We had finally arrived there after a long trip and when I got inside we got our bathing suits on because my cousin had a huge pool to swim in and he was having a party. After I got my bathing suit on I headed to the pool and jumped in. When I jumped in it was cold I got out and decided to help prepare the food and put up the party decorations while my mom put something in the pool water to make it warm. When everything was prepared everyone arrived and the kids got their bathing suits on and we all jumped in the pool together and it was warm. After we swam a little the food was cooked and we ate. Then we waited a little to let the food settle in then we got back in the pool. When dark came the pool lit up with colorful neon lights and it was so pretty. Then we hooked up a slide to it and slid down it a couple of times. After the party was over everyone went home and I got in a towel and dried off and went in the house and got ready for bed. Then the next day we took the long trip all the way back home. That was a fun weekend.

I was on spring break a few days ago and I had so much fun. I was at my cousin’s house. We had so much fun. We were so hot so we came up with an idea. We made a water park with her brothers. We used their playhouse slide as a water slide. The monkey bars as wet monkey bars. We used the basketball goal as splash and swish. We had 2 lifeguards on duty and kept switching in and out. Her little brother Luke and I were on duty then. We had one lifeguard at the top telling them when to go and one at the bottom catching them. We even put sunscreen on our nose and made it visible like a lifeguard. It felt like a real water park. Next, Luke and I were customers and Mollie and Easton were lifeguards. We raced down the slide and had so much fun. The 2 lifeguards on duty were lying on towels while we shot basketball. It was a super cool day. I had so much fun.

Yesterday, we were off for spring break! I had a blast. Miley came over to my house and we played like we were at Splash Country! We hooked up our water hose to our playhouse. It is about broken down. We slid down that slide 50 times! We had a blast in our backyard!

When I have a day off from school, I have fun playing outside. My cousin and I played baseball outside at my grandma’s house. I also went to Dollywood and rode Lightning Rod and Wild Eagle. I love riding roller-coasters.
Nathan Shelburne, 5th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Austin

My fun day off from school was Easter because my brother Braylon and I went to the park and Mom let us get in the creek. We had lots of fun. We saw a baby bird and it was trying to fly but it had a broken wing. We took him to the vet and the vet fixed it. Now he can fly like he wanted to. I felt really good that day because I saved a baby bird. What is your fun thing to do when you are off from school?

When I had a fun day on spring break is when I went to go see my uncle. They hid eggs and I went and found them. Then we all went up in the woods and found a lot of caves. We didn’t go in the caves, we just looked in them from around it. That was the best fun day ever.
Nick Barber, 5th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Austin

If I had a fun day off from school I would go to Pigeon Forge and go have fun. I would ride goats on the roof and go to Dollywood and ride go-karts and go to The Island. Then go to a hotel and stay the week and have fun.
Nick Gailey, 5th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Austin

I had a fun day off from school over spring break. I went to my little cousins’ birthday party. We played the piano, wrestled, and colored. The party was very fun! We ate delicious cake and ice cream. They loved all of their awesome presents! I would actually like to have some of the things that they got for their birthday because they seemed fun to play with. My favorite thing that we did was color. It was a very fun party!

My favorite day out of school was Easter. After we ate Easter dinner we hunted eggs. I won the most eggs so I gave some to my little brother Titus. He got the dinosaur eggs and I got the candy eggs. When we got home Titus took a nap so I got to play with my cousin Kaden on the trampoline. We were like acrobats on the trampoline doing flips here and there. It was awesome.

A fun day off from school would be hanging out with the wolf pack. What is the wolf pack? It’s where my cousin and my friend and I hang out. Yesterday we went to McDonald’s and Leeman Field. Then we went back home and had a bike race. We played some baseball and kickball too. But sadly it had to come to an end. Oh I forgot. The members of the wolf pack are Erick and Tyler. That is a fun day off from school!

On April 20th I went to Cherokee, close to Maggie Valley. We left on a Friday because my softball games got rained out. We drove through Pigeon Forge, and then took an exit to go to Maggie Valley. We had to drive on that road for about 30 minutes then we stopped at one of my favorite gas stations. In there we used the bathroom and I got chocolate chip cookies. They were in a six pack. When we left the gas station we saw a sail coming our way. We left the gas station and took another exit. When we were on this road it started to rain. We drove by a lot of rocks on the side of the road, they were on the hill. There were also ditches in the side of the hill. Water filled the ditches and there was a mini waterfall. Then the water filled the holes on the hill and made streams. There was a river beside the road we were driving on, and the rapids got faster and higher. After that road we drove through Maggie Valley. Next stop was Cherokee. We had to drive up and down a mountain. Last year I about puked because the road has a lot of curves. This time I sat up front, and I did not puke this time. We got to the hotel and brought our suitcases in. After that we went to the casino. My dad went to the gambling part. Alyssa and I could not go down there. Afterwards we ate at a buffet. It was so good! Then we went to the hotel. In the morning we got up, got ready, and headed on out. When we were on the mountain it started to snow. As we got higher it got even harder. On the top of the mountain the temperature was below freezing. After we went down the mountain we went through the National Park. I saw 2 elk! I took a picture with my phone. When we got home I wanted to go again. This was a really fun day!

When I was off for summer break two years ago my uncle was mowing his neighbor’s yard and they have a pond. When he was mowing I got to fish. Since I have a bad tendency to pull the pole extremely hard, I caught a flying fish!! My papaw came running and I had a blue gill about one inch long lying in front of me.
Ryan Carmony, 5th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Austin

I had a fun day off from school. It was the last day of spring break, also my birthday. My mom asked my brother and me to clean some toys we got out of the flower bed. Some people may think it was boring because it involved cleaning but, it was actually quite fun. We flung soap at each other and it was worth it to see my little sister’s smile while going down the slide.
Samantha Cavin, 5th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Austin

Spring break is the best time to go to the beach, Texas, and Dollywood. You could play with your friends or family. I love spending time with my family. We go out to eat, go to the flea market, get games to play, or we look around to find something that we like. Something like a poster to put in our rooms, and a flag to hang outside. We love to go on vacation.
Savannah Evans, 5th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Austin

It was summer break. I went to the pool with my little sister to teach her how to swim. My little sister was afraid of the water. When I began to try to teach my little sister how to swim, she asked me, “Why do I have to swim? Also, why is it important?” I told her, “If you fell into the pool and did not know how to swim you would drown.”
Subrina Eldridge, 5th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Austin

If I was going to describe a fun day off school I would say I would want to stay home and read. I am really boring. I don’t like to do anything fun. I don’t play games in gym and I’m not open to talking much. I love reading books, writing stories, writing songs, and drawing pictures. If we didn’t have school for a day I would sit in my room and do those things. I like to be outside; I love planting flowers and climbing trees. If we didn’t have school I would stay home and do what I think is fun. I don’t really hang around people unless I have to, so not many friends come over to stay. What would you do if you got a day off school?
Tawni Toney, 5th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Austin

One of my favorite fun days off from school was when I went to Dollywood in the summer. It was so fun to me and my brother. My brother and I had a really good time at Dollywood. We rode Lightning Rod and it was so fun. It had just come out. We loved it so much my cousins went too and they had a good time too. That is my fun day. The end.
Taylor Bishop, 5th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Austin

I had a fun day off from school in my summer break a couple years ago. I went to a water park called Natural Tunnel with my brother, Tanner and our friends, Bailie and Nathan. Bailie and I screamed as we went down the water slide. We loved the diving board too. All of us ate there and loved the food. We had so much fun and we always try to go to Natural Tunnel every summer.
Taylor Epperly, 5th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Austin

Last Thursday the first day of spring break I had a baseball game in Big Stone Gap. I started out pitching in the first inning and struck two batters out, walked someone, then I struck another out and that was three outs. In the second inning I was still pitching and someone hit it to the outfield and got to second base. Then someone got on first base. Those two got in my head a little bit. That caused me to throw bad pitches. I still pitched in the third inning but in the fourth inning coach put me in the outfield. We still won and I had a lot of fun!
Taylor McKnight, 5th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Austin

A fun day that I remember was a trip to Dollywood. That was the first day I had ever ridden a roller coaster. That day was amazing. My sister and I rode almost every roller coaster. My favorite roller coaster is called Wild Eagle. It is very fun. My sister and I were not afraid but we still screamed as loud as we could. It was hilarious when we went to the huge swings. When my mother said that we should go to the swings I did not think that they were going to be that tall. We also went to the Ferris wheel. There was a label that said “Do Not Rock” but I accidentally leaned back a little and it rocked back and I was screaming as much as I could. I really hope that I will be able to go again.
Taylor Shupe, 5th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Austin

One day we got off from school and I helped my little brother ride his bike on a sunny day. After that we played football together. We had fun.
Travis Eldridge, 5th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Austin

I would like to have a fun day of AWESOME! I would want to go to Dollywood, play Fortnite, and play golf with my family because my sister is good at golf and most of my family is good at playing golf.
Walker Baker, 5th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Austin

My favorite day off school was on a Saturday at Bass Pro Shops. I did not go to shop. I went to bowl at Uncle Buck Fish Bowl and it was awesome. The thing that brought the ball back was an alligator and some had sharks. It was amazing. It was underwater themed and it was better than any other bowling place. After the bowling we looked at the fish in the Bass Pro Shop. The fish were cool. After we went bowling we went to the Jonesville Airport where my uncle got engaged. It was cool especially since my uncle just got back from Virginia Beach. It was an amazing day and I wish it could happen again.
Zach Lane, 5th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Austin

My fun day off of school would be a Saturday because you wake up and you have nothing to do, so that’s fun. Plus anything that doesn’t involve school is fun.
Aiden Troutman, 6th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Jones

Well you could go to places. You could play board games. Play outside. Swim in the pool. Go to the water park.
Alivia Collins, 6th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Jones

My favorite thing off from school was spring break. I had a wonderful spring break week. My mamaw and I went to the flea market and we got Hardees for breakfast that morning. I also went to Walmart twice in one day and I got 35 dollars.
Ashton Elliott, 6th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Jones

A fun day off school. That is fun enough. Now if I had to pick something to do I would watch TV.
Ben Cope, 6th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Jones

I think a fun day off from school would be going to the lake and fishing all day and then having a bonfire and going camping.
Cassidy Thomas, 6th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Jones

My fun day off from school is going to my friend’s house. Or I will stay home and watch TV all day. I will ride my four wheeler or my dirt bike.
Cayden Brock, 6th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Jones

The most fun day is when it snowed. That’s when I got to play in the snow.
Dakota Rogers, 6th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Jones

I’ve had a lot of days out of school and they were fun. One of my days off that I think was fun is when it was snowing outside and I made myself a sled track down a hill at my house. After that, I drank a lot of hot chocolate.
Dalton Miles, 6th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Jones

I liked going home due to snow. It made our school day shorter. And the time we got out for spring break. And the other time we got out for flood.
Ellis Hammonds, 6th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Jones

A fun day off from school would be to go to your friends. I eat then go outside for like an hour. Then after a long day I take a nice long nap.
Emily Stewart, 6th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Jones

A fun day off of school would be going to Pigeon Forge’s Dollywood theme park. Riding very many rides–some fun and others scary. If anything I would ride the spinning rides the most and definitely no dropping rides. The food there is also very good.
Emma Hobbs, 6th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Jones

A movie, drinks, snacks, and popcorn and then play some games outside or inside and have bouncy houses and water slides and a lot of water. That is how I would spend a fun day out of school.
Emma Wright, 6th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Jones

It is fun being out of school because you can go to Dollywood. You can also go to Splash Country and go swimming. I love being off from school.
Ethan Pennington, 6th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Jones

If we had a day off at school I would go to the pool at night.
Faith Arney, 6th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Jones

A fun day off from school would be my friends and I having fun. We would ride four wheelers and have a BB gun fight. We do it a lot and we have fun. That is what I would do on a fun day off of school.
Finn Grout, 6th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Jones

I would watch Netflix and play Fortnite.
Gracie Willis, 6th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Jones

A fun day off school would be to play outside, play my Xbox, and just be lazy. I love school but, I love when we have school off also. I would enjoy my day off but I don’t want to miss any days since our reading SOL is in TWO DAYS! That would be my day off!
Grier Crabtree, 6th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Jones

I like to go swimming on the days off from school. It is fun and fun time with family. I also like to go bike riding. I just learned how to ride a bike. It is very fun and fun time with family also. We love to go together and have some family fun time.
