When I’m out of school I like to go on a golf cart ride, especially with Abigail. We laugh and laugh because the wind gets in our faces and our hair flings everywhere. If I was out of school for one day, I would go to the creek and skip rocks. I like to skip rocks because you can find shells and it is also like a little beach. You can find little fish too. Going to the creek is what I would do on a day I was out of school.

A very fun day off from school is swimming. Swimming gives you lots of exercise. It even gets warm after a few minutes. I love to swim. Swimming is my favorite thing to do. That is my fun day off from school.

The way I would describe a fun day off from school is being at Dollywood. Dollywood would be fun to go to because it has rides. It also would be fun because there are swings. Sometimes some of the rides are scary. This is how I would describe a day off from school.
Hailey Hagy, 2nd, Hilton Elementary, Mrs. Edwards

If I had a fun day off from school it would be paradise. I would set my alarm clock for 6:00 am and then when I wake up I’ll pay Xbox 360 and then go outside. After all that’s finished we’ll do a good thing for society. I love doing that. In fact, it’s my favorite thing to do. I am excited to donate to the needy and help the community to prevent pollution. It’s going to be great! That’s what I would do on a day of no school.
McKenna Bentley, 2nd, Hilton Elementary, Mrs. Edwards

My favorite day off from school was when I went to Dollywood. It was a day on spring break and we went to Dollywood. My favorite ride was The Twister. The Twister is something that goes really fast. If feels like you’re going to hit the other person. You’re in this box and three people can fit in one box and you go around and around. You have to be sixteen to ride with someone else. That’s my favorite day off from school.
Reese Stallard, 2nd, Hilton Elementary, Mrs. Edwards

For a fun day off from school you can do many things. On a fun day you can ride a bike. Another thing you can do is run outside. Another thing you can do is play tag with someone outside. You can also play soccer or volleyball with someone.
Aaron Robertstad, 7th Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

I think one of my fun days was on summer break because I got to go to Gatlinburg and I got to spend time with my family. We went to Dollywood. That was one of my fun days. And I got to see my sister last summer. It was fun. We did a lot of fun things. And as we were on spring break my sister had a baby. I got to visit her for the first time over summer break and I had a lot of fun over the summer.
April Odum, 7th Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

I can’t remember why exactly we were out but we were. The first thing I did was eat food. I had pancakes, bacon, eggs, toast, and syrup for the pancakes. Next it was around lunch time. We went to go eat chicken. Yay. Finally I went to go see the movie Us and that was the last thing I did.
Billy Parker, 7th Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

When our school is off for a day I wake up around 7:00 and start riding my bike and that’s fun because the sun is still rising so the sky still looks amazing. Then after that I play my game for a while. Then my family and I play board games and we watch movies.
Christian Ridgely, 7th Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

One of the fun days off from school is Christmas. Why I think this is a fun day off from school is because I get to see my other part of the family that I never get to see. This is a fun day off of school because I get to open up presents, and celebrate the birth of baby Jesus. I also like when we get out of school on different holidays because I get to spend time with my family and go places.
Emma Saxton, 7th Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

Here is what I think is a fun day off school. The first thing is playing outside in the creek beside my house. After that I would go inside to get something to drink. Then I would go watch Netflix and play video games the rest of the day. That’s what I think is a fun day off from school.
Gage Southern, 7th Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

Ok so when we were off Thursday last week (the 28th) I went on an ETSU field trip. We went to tour Mars Hill the college and after we went to a mall. I was in a group of five people that are my friends: Grant, John, Trent, Sofia, and me. We went to so many stores. We got a pizza and bought a lot of stuff. After the mall we went to a farming center and Grant fell off of a tractor. There were a lot of animals and fun things. Then before we left kids from another school started to dance. So that was the fun day off from school.
Gracie Perry, 7th Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

A fun day off from school would be going to Smoky Mountain Knife Works in Pigeon Forge or going to Dollywood riding all the rides and having fun. Or staying home shooting guns with my dad or even having my dad home would be fun, but he works a lot. Going to the lake with a friend and jumping off Cliff Island. That’s having fun.
Jacob Turpin, 7th, Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

The way I would describe a fun day off from school is I would go outside if it’s a good day. If I don’t want to go outside I could get on my phone. I would go do something to get out of the house. Go walking on a trail if you live near one or run, hang out with a friend. Or I would relax in the house if you don’t want to do anything.
Kailee Gross, 7th, Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

A fun day off from school is when you don’t have to do any work. You can stay at home and relax. You can go to Taco Bell and eat lunch and you can have a Pepsi or something besides milk for lunch. When I am at home on a day off from school, I play on my phone and then I go and do other stuff too. When you are out for spring break sometimes you have a whole week out of school so you can do a lot of fun things in a week.
Kase Newman, 7th, Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

A fun day off from school would be like it’s the best day ever. Say that day is today and it’s warm and you want to go to the park. When you go to the park you can take your dog and run around and have a blast.

A fun day off from school would be first, eat breakfast. Then go outside and jump on my trampoline for a while. Next I would ride my Suzuki RM85 two-stroke. Then my Kawasaki Teryx 800 V-twin. Before the end I would go play football with my little brother. Lastly I would play basketball until dark.
Trent Gillum, 7th, Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

A fun day off from school will be if I go to Florida with no homework. Homework on vacation is harder than normal. You have to do it when you are at the beach if everyone is outside and that describes a fun day away from school.

A fun day off of school for me would be getting to go to Kingsport with my family. My Nana and Papaw like Chinese so we would all go there and eat a lot of food. I would eat so much shrimp I would be sick. I love shrimp. After my sister and I would go to the mall and look at clothes and shoes. We probably will buy some clothes and drive my dad crazy and then go get milkshakes from Sonic. Then at the end of the night we would get to go to the movies and eat popcorn and laugh and make one of our best memories. That would be the best day of my life.
Adriane Moore, 5th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Austin

My fun day off of school was when I got a new dirt bike. Then I went to North Carolina. I went dirt bike riding. Next my parents got me my new phone and we went back to North Carolina. We went and saw a lot of my family down in North Carolina. Then we went to Georgia. We went and again saw more family. We came back to my house. Finally I went and saw my nana in Harlan. This is how I describe a fun day off from school.
Aleisha Jones, 5th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Austin

Describing a fun day off school is really easy, especially if it really did happen, like mine. On spring break, my dad came to my house to pick us up to go to the park. My little sister and I decided we didn’t want to go, so we said we should go to my granddad’s trailer park. My older sister decided that too so we went to his trailer park. When we got there, we just honked our horn then got out. He wasn’t there yet so we went around looking for him. His dog, Jack, who’s about 12 years old, came running up to us, barking happily. He really likes to see us. Then we saw our granddad, walking towards us. We usually call him “Pop Pop” for some reason. I’m not sure why but that’s always what we call him. So then we start going up his trail in the woods behind him. We were talking on the way, Jack in front of us–it was all really nice. We stopped at a few places to rest, just on some logs, metal, or dirt. We went past all his old rusty cars, then made a little turn to another trail. We finally stopped at an unfinished log cabin he tried to make when he was younger. It was only 2 logs per side. So it was just 8 little logs. He also had a stone fireplace there too, but there wasn’t any flint. There were just some rocks we sat on, there were also lots of sticks and wood beside us from when he was trying to build. We stayed there for about an hour then went back down the trail. After that we said goodbye and went home.

At the beginning of the year my family and I went to Connecticut for four days to see my family. Some of my family live in New York so we rarely get to see them. They want to see us again soon and I can’t want to see most of my family again. My family and I want to go meet up with them. I hope we will.
Aubrey Malle, 5th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Austin

If I had to describe a fun day off from school it would be last Thursday. Last Thursday my family and I went to Devil’s Bathtub in Scott County, VA. Devil’s Bathtub is a 1.8 mile trail that ends up at a bathtub-shaped hole. It is beautiful and exciting. You have to go up and under many trees. If you go, there are many people from all over the USA that go there. You have to cross the river many times before getting there. There are yellow markers on the trees that tell you that you’re going in the right direction. Devil’s Bathtub is an awesome place to go on a day off from school.
Bailie Hughes, 5th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Austin

One fun day I had was on a Sunday. We had Easter that morning. I was so excited to hunt for eggs but I told my mom that I didn’t want to hunt for Easter eggs. When I told her that she was shocked because I always hunt for Easter eggs. I told her why I didn’t want to hunt for Easter eggs. Because I get almost all of the Easter eggs. I didn’t hunt for them so the little kids could get a lot of Easter eggs. Then we went to my other mamaw’s house to hunt for some Easter eggs and so I could spend some time with them before I had to leave. So I hunted for some Easter eggs. We went back home and we noticed that one of my cousins was not there. So we went to his house and I gave him my Easter eggs that I found. It made my mom so happy.
