My special birthday memory I will always remember is when I turned 11, which was last year on November 17th. I had a cake wars theme and it was really fun. A lot of people could not come because we did not make a lot of cakes. It was a good memory because it was really special to me. There are a lot of people out there who cannot afford to have a birthday party and I am thankful that I could. I have always had a birthday party as far as I can remember. One of my friends who came over got to stay the night. It was really fun and I hope everyone can have a birthday party and be able to make good memories too.

My special memory is from this year. My birthday is on January 4, 2008. This year, I turned 11 and I got a TV, tickets to see the Harlem Globetrotters, tickets to see the Lady Vols play 5 times, and some other stuff. I love tickets and the TV. Yesterday I saw the Harlem Globetrotters and they were so fun. Soon, I get to see the Lady Vols. So that is my favorite memory of my birthday.

My favorite birthday memory is when I turned 8! That was the last birthday. It was just my family and me. When I turned 9 I thought I was ready for everyone to come. Now I miss when it was just me, Daddy, Mommy, Mamaw, Aunt Ashie, Uncle John, Brynleigh, and Harper. The reason it’s my favorite memory is because that year I got my first bike that didn’t have training wheels. Also, I had my party at Rogersville Park. My family and I played forever. It was so much fun and I wish I could live it again!

I was born on October 4, 2007 and on that very night my grandmother was sent to the hospital. A little after my third birthday we found out that my grandma had cancer. Ever since then we have gone and visited her in the hospital on my birthday. We always bring her flowers and a slice of cake. Ever since my third birthday this has been my favorite thing to do on my birthday.
Laila Fritts, 5th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Austin

My most cherished birthday memory was when I was 8. My mamaw, uncles, mom, and I were at home and my birthday was normal–no arguing, nothing bad. It was perfect. I got the things that I wanted. I also got to go to a water park. It was awesome.
Landon Deirth, 5th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Austin

My favorite birthday memory is my little sister’s 2nd birthday. She blew out the candles and then she stuck her hands in the cake. She got cake on the floor, her dress, her high chair, and her face. Then we had to put her in the tub to wash her. That’s why it is my special birthday memory.
Logan Lester, 5th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Austin

My special memory is when my family got together. It was great. We had it down at the creek. We went swimming and fishing and shot crossbows. We went hunting and shot rifles.
Matthew Willis, 5th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Austin

I was once nine years old. I have a special birthday memory about spending time with my family and opening gifts with everyone, eating cake, and having a great birthday party. I like spending time with all of my brothers, sisters, mom and dad, mammaw, and pappaw.
Mattie Amey, 5th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Austin

My favorite birthday memory is about a tradition my family and I do. A tradition that we do is called birthday celebration. This is where whenever my sister or I have a birthday we celebrate this tradition. So this is how the tradition goes, as soon as my sister or I wake we have our favorite breakfast and drink. Then we go to one of our favorite stores and pick an early birthday gift and go back home. After we get back home my sister or I will sit on the couch watch some TV while my parents get the party ready. After the table is set for the party we make birthday gift bags and put them on the counter. Also we set out some snacks on the counter for the party. After my friends and family get there we play some games and then we unwrap all the gifts. At the end of the party all of my friends stay but everyone else leaves and before it gets dark we all go to the store and buy a horror movie and some snacks. Then when we get home we get in our pajamas and watch the horror movie we picked out and get our snacks ready. After the movie we will play some games and do some fun girly things like paint nails and do our makeup. After we go to bed and the next day later in the evening my friends go home and I play with all the gifts I got. That is my birthday tradition.

My special birthday memory is from my 10th birthday. I had a unicorn pool birthday party. It was so fun. My mom had to go to the hospital. Then I lost a tooth. Then it was time for presents. I got a lot of money. I also got a sleepover with my grandparents. It was also fun.

I have a special birthday memory from when I was 6 or younger because my Mamaw Linda was always there. I have these memories because she has passed away. I have all the birthday cards from when she was alive. I am so glad I kept them because I wouldn’t have any now. She has been with the Lord for a few years now. One thing is I am glad I have memories from when she was here. On every one of my birthdays or around that time she would make me my favorite cake–her famous oatmeal cake. YUM! It was really good. I don’t get to see her on my birthdays or birthday parties now but I am sure glad I have birthday memories with her.
Miley Stapleton, 5th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Austin

My favorite birthday memory was when I was 10 years old. My mamaw and papaw came down, and my Mimi and Poppop! We had cake and ice cream. But my favorite part is being with my family. We played corn hole. I like being with my family and that is the greatest gift they could give me.
Mollie Cantor, 5th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Austin

One special birthday memory was when I was turning nine and my cousin came all the way from North Carolina. Then after my birthday they came to my house and we played Fortnite all night. I really want them to come back to my house and play more Fortnite. That was one of the best birthdays of my life.
Nathan Shelburne, 5th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Austin

My special birthday memory is my mom, dad, family, and I went to a pool and I had cake and ice cream. My uncle and my other uncle put my face in the cake and I had to go wash it off. My mom laughed at me and I did too. We went swimming and my uncle pushed me in and I came out and pushed him in next. Well it was time to eat pizza. We got out. I was walking and my uncle threw me back in. I got in trouble because he put me back in there. Well it was time for me to open gifts. My uncle got me a unicorn floaty and I was riding it and he was under it and he turned me over.
Nevaeh Washam, 5th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Austin

My special birthday memory was when I got to have birthday with my brother. Our birthdays are so close together and fun. I got to go to Gatlinburg. I got to ride go-karts and I go to the aquarium. I got to pet a penguin and I got to touch a stingray. I got to see a shark and I got to pet a shark. When we got finished there we got to ride in a monster truck and I got to see goats on the roof. I got to stay a week there and we went to Dollywood. Then we went home and we ate cake.
Nicholas Gailey, 5th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Austin

My favorite birthday memory was when I was turning eleven. One day I was coming home from school and I knew something was up. So I said what is going on because there was a birthday banner on my front porch. I forgot that it was my birthday. Then I realized it was my birthday. I heard a loud car outside and it was my cousin and his son. We played for a while. Then my mom and dad said come here Nick. So when I came into the house a big birthday cake was on the counter.
Nick Barber, 5th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Austin

I have one very special birthday memory. It was when I turned 10. On my 10th birthday I got a playhouse and it was special because I had always wanted a playhouse. When I saw it I screamed and I was so excited. My dad asked me if that was what I wanted and I said that is what I have always wanted. He said, “I am glad you like it.” The playhouse was also purple on the outside and pink on the inside. At the time those were my favorite colors. That is my favorite birthday memory and why it is my favorite birthday memory.
Olivia Mitchell, 5th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Austin

My special birthday memory is when I was turning 10. It was a sunny Tuesday in May. That’s when I got my first tablet. It was black with 5 games on it. I played Temple Run first because it was fun to play. Then Angry Birds. It was the best day ever.
Piper Linton, 5th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Austin

My special birthday memory was my Tron birthday party. I was turning 5 years old. It was at my old church’s lunch area. Mom had hung up stickers of the movie on the walls. We turned off the lights. Everything glowed in the dark! We had the blue and orange disc. The cake had light cycles on it. Last but not least I got a giant Sam Flynn figure and light cycles. I guess you could say it was the greatest party ever!
Randy Litton, 5th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Austin

I have a special memory from my birthday. My family and I went to the water park in Gatlinburg. I was turning 9. Instead of doing a birthday party we went to the water park. I love traveling, so this was a better idea than a party. It takes three hours to get to Gatlinburg. When we arrived at the water park I was so happy. When we got in our room there were bunk beds for my sister and me. After, we went to the water park. The water park was in the hotel. The first thing I did was play in the wave pool. Next, I went on this big red and white slide. The slide had a big drop, then you would go in this big funnel. You would spin around in the funnel for 30 seconds. We stayed in the water park for 5 hours. We went to the room and got ready to go to a buffet. The most things I ate were dessert foods. I ate chocolate covered strawberries. We went to an arcade and played games for 3 hours. The next day I woke up and got dressed. We were going shopping. I love shopping! After that we got breakfast at Shoney’s. The restaurant had breakfast food and dinner food. I ate both because why not! On the way back home I took a nap. When I woke up we were home! I love this special memory!

The Apple Sauce Cake. I have a really funny memory from my little sister´s first birthday. You see Rachel is allergic to eggs so we have to find things to replace the eggs. My mom had an idea to replace the eggs with apple sauce. So her first birthday cake was terrible. It just came out mushy, soggy, and moist. My mom, mamaw, dad, cousins, brothers, Rachel, and I all thought it was a crumbly, soggy mess.
Samantha Cavin, 5th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Austin

On November 8th I had so much fun. We played in the mud with our dogs, pig, cows, horses, and our sheep. We played all day long and fed our animals. We had lots of food. We ate then went back outside and played then came back in, ate cake, opened gifts, and went to bed for the next day.
Savannah Evans, 5th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Austin

My special birthday memory was when I was five years old. My dad got me a BB gun plus a target. My dad tried to teach me how to shoot it. When I tried it on my own, I accidentally shot my dad’s chicken. At least I did not get in trouble.
Subrina Eldridge, 5th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Austin

This is my special memory about my mom’s 30th birthday. Mom and I were at the house but since we couldn’t go camping we stayed outside in our back yard. Her birthday was on June 19th and for some reason she really loved stars. She said there was nothing else she would ask for. We sat by the fire and mainly looked at the stars. She did make s’mores though. That was her favorite sweet food. Sometimes I would make her a card and draw a picture for her. We used her paint to write our names on the walls because that was where she grew up. It was just Mom, Sissy, and Mom’s boyfriend. No one else came. She said she liked puppy stuffed animals, so one year I got her one. She knocked over a drink and she started laughing. When she laughs she never stops.
Tawni Toney, 5th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Austin

My special birthday memory was my eleventh birthday. It was the best birthday ever. The reasons that it was is because it was my first birthday at the Pennington Pool. I learned how to flip off of the diving board and almost everyone showed up. I got amazing gifts. Zach and Elijah were the only ones who would jump off of the diving board with me. I really wish that everyone could have made it. It was really fun.
Taylor McKnight, 5th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Austin

My favorite birthday memory was at my friend’s house for a sleepover. She was turning ten years old. The next morning I was the first one awake. Another one of my friends was too. I had watched a television show before I went to my friend’s house. On the show they hypnotized their sister so, I tried to hypnotize my friends. It didn’t work but, it was fun anyways!
Taylor Epperly, 5th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Austin

One of my birthday traditions is that every year I have my birthday party at my house and my mamaw makes my birthday cake. It is so good to me and my family. I love having my birthday party at my house every year and I love having all of my family there with me on my birthday. I blow out my candles and open my presents and give everybody a hug and tell them I love them. My family is the best and I love them so much. They are always so nice to me and on all of the grand kids’ birthdays my mamaw makes us all a birthday cake and it is so sweet and tasty and that is my family tradition.
Taylor Bishop, 5th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Austin

One of my birthday memories is when I went to my Aunt Crystal´s house. My Aunt Crystal has a big pool that we all swam in that day. We also had pizza. That day, before we went to Crystal´s house, my mom bought me and my sister hula skirts. Since we had hula skirts, after we ate pizza we danced. That was my favorite birthday memory.
