Hello NIE Teachers:

I am resurrecting our ‘Season of Giving’ showcase in Sunday Stories next month and would like to invite our NIE teachers to participate.

“The Season of Giving” edition of Sunday Stories (set to publish on Dec. 23) will showcase short stories and photos about holiday service projects in our local schools.

Principals and teachers are invited to share short stories (300 words or less) and photos (no more than 3 per project, please) highlighting holiday projects (i.e. pet food collections, shoe box projects, food drives, caroling at a nursing home, soldier care packages or cards, etc.) that illustrate the “Season of Giving” theme.

All submissions must be received by Friday, Dec. 14 to be included in the Christmas edition of Sunday Stories. But, please don’t wait if your project is already happening or underway. Email the short stories and photos to cmusick@timesnews.net.

There is no charge for participating; just an opportunity to highlight your students/schools generosity and – at the same time – help create a feel-good Christmas edition of Sunday Stories for our community.

Sincerely,
Carmen Musick
Sunday Stories Editor

P.S. Doing something later in December? Any photos/stories received after the Dec. 14 deadline will be included in Sunday Scrapbook at a later date, so send those too!!! Also, unique projects may garner a larger story or follow-up from a member of our team, so please be sure to include contact information for the person who coordinated the project.
