All have some, and some gave all, and because those simple words, I will forever be thankful!
Ashley Shoemaker, 8th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Brooks

Dear veteran, Thank you for serving the United States of America. I also thank you for keeping us safe. I have all of you veterans and I have one person and that is my papaw, Jim/James, he served in the Navy Airforce and he was the one who drove the airplane and shot people who were fighting against us in the Navy. His full name is James Douglas Crawford II. He is my papaw and he died six months ago. I thank all of you veterans.

Dear veteran, Thank you for everything you have done and had to do during your service. I know it must have been hard seeing the things that have happened. It’s weird how some said that World War I would finish all the wars and it didn’t. But thank you for your service. We are all thankful for what you have done. My papaw was in World War II and he helped with radioactive stuff or something and he also helped with a gunner with the bullet belt.

I know it’s been hard, but thank you for everything.
Nicole Fee, 8th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Brooks

Dear veteran, Thank you! Doing what veterans do is very dangerous most of the time. They all seem to think it’s worth it to risk their lives for others. It’s so heroic. So, thank you for all you do and have done. We wouldn’t be here without you.
Ryan Middleton, 8th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Brooks

Dear veteran, Thank you so much for keeping this country safe. Because of you and many others, families and individuals can live freely. I really feel that this note won’t fulfill all of the appreciation I have for you, but it’s better than nothing. So, thank you for all of your hard work and dedication. It means so much to my family, my friends, and me.
Kamrin Bishop, 8th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Brooks

I would like to thank my great-grandfather for all he has done for our country. I thank him for serving in World War I and II. He was a great man, a great soldier, and an awesome grandfather.
Waylon Ball, 8th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Brooks

Dear veteran, I just want you to know how much you mean to me.  Why?  Because you had to go through so much trouble for every boy and girl.  I know how hard it has been for you.  My mamaw and papaw fought in World War II and they worked their butts off.  Now, they are healthy and amazing.  I also, had a great-grandfather, Buck Smith, who fought in the Vietnam War.  He loved to bake for the troops.  Sadly, we lost him one year ago from a heat stroke.  I know he is in a good place now.  I just want to thank you so much for your service because I know you don’t get a lot of people saying, “Thank you!”  Thank you for my life and thank you for everything that you have done!
Jessie Barton, 6th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Gibson

Dear veteran, Thank you for putting your life on the line.  Thank you for defending our country and fighting for our freedom.  Thank you for always doing your best, even when it seemed there was no hope.  Thank you for always protecting us and never giving up.  Thank you for never quitting and never forfeiting a battle.  Thank you for always helping us and always going out into battle, when most don’t have the courage to.  Thank you for your service.
Jakob Crowder, 6th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Gibson

Dear veteran, Thank you for fighting in the war, which you probably had to travel far. You helped people be free, people like you and me. It must be hard to be a veteran, so I hope this letter comes in to help me show my appreciation.
Emma Fortner, 6th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Gibson

Dear veteran, I would like to say thank you.  You risked your life for people you didn’t even know.  Every day you went out on that field, not knowing if you would even come back or if you would see your family again. My oldest brother was in the Army.  He worked on the cars, tanks, and other stuff.  Sometimes he would be on a car with a gun mounted on it.  When they came in the base, he would point the gun at them.  From stories he told me, I feel so thankful that you did that and other stuff for us. I would like to say thank you again.  I am so proud to be an American.  You might have lost your friends, but you came back.  Thank you, again!!!
Shirley Washburn, 6th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Gibson
