When we get new students, I try to make them feel welcome. A good way to welcome a new student is being friends with them. I could encourage others to be friends with them too. Just complimenting that person can make them feel good about themselves. For example, you can tell them their clothes look nice or that they are an excellent friend. A compliment can do a lot.
