A time that I felt really proud of something I did was I made principal’s honor roll. The reason I was so proud of myself was because I have always dreamed of making it and I kept pushing myself to do it and I did it. So all you have to do is keep pushing yourself and you can reach your goal.

Recently on February 9, my robotics team 18000B went to Clinton for a meet. My team, unlike 18000A and C was not qualified for state so we had to win at least one qualifying award, and we did! For my team, I am the main builder and driver. Out of 30 teams, middle school and high school, we came in first in our qualification rounds. Then with our alliance, we went on to win in the finals. This qualified us for state! I am extremely proud of my team’s hard work on the robot, and in our journey.

Something that made me really proud of myself would be when I was elected troop leader. I’m in charge. What I say goes. All my fellow Boy Scouts voted me in. It was such a great honor.

One time last summer there was a wild land fire on top of a ridge. Within arrival it was burning. It had burned about fifty feet of land. The fire department was there at the fire and I was at my mamaw’s house and I saw them. So I decided to walk down to where they were and at the time they didn’t have an ATV or UTV so they asked me if we had an ATV or UTV and I said yes I did. So then I went and got the ATV and helped them put the fire out and they thanked me for helping.

The thing that made me feel really proud of myself was when I shot my first squirrel. After I shot it my friend said, “Good job.” When they all said, “Good job” I felt accomplished for the day and proud. Also I was proud because my parents made other food to go with it, but knowing that I helped put food on the table and I’m only a kid made me proud. I hope you enjoyed what I have done before, and has made me proud.

A time I was proud of something I did is when I started a YouTube series with some friends playing Terraria. We have made several streams of the game and we had fun playing. I felt proud to be a part of their team because I had never been on YouTube, and I’m thinking about starting my own.

A time I can recall when I was really proud of myself for something I did was when I build my own PC or personal computer. My PC is orange and can handle many graphic games. The thing I love about it most is the friends you can make and talk to. My PC is the thing I am most proud of.

One time I felt really proud of something I did is when I got my ambassador jacket when I went to Emmett Elementary. It was an amazing experience to be an ambassador because we got to meet some very important people. You didn’t know that you were going to get an ambassador jacket, but your parents did. You would go up in front of the school with your parents and put your ambassador jacket on. But to have one you had to have very good grades and you had to keep your grades up.

The one time I was really proud of myself was when I rode my first bull. I thought I wasn’t going to be able to ride that day because normally, it costs a lot but it was free that day. I had a really fun day. It was my first time ever and I am going again this weekend. It’s going to be cold but fun.

I was proud of myself when I read Ready Player One by Ernest Cline. At the time it was the largest book I read at around 500 to 530 pages. I’m proud of that because I’ve never been a big reader so my parents were proud of me, and that made me proud of myself.

One thing I felt very proud about was when I beat my first game to one hundred percent. The game was Mario and Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story and I felt very proud. If you have all Mario and Luigi’s and Bowser’s ranks up, the game congratulates you by saying before it leaves, “I rarely give praise to the unenlightened, but you truly are amazing…and now I go.” After it says that I feel very proud for taking my time to get all their ranks up to achieve that rank.

Here is one thing I’m proud I did. When I was eleven I moved some heavy stuff to my grandma’s because she needed help. I was super proud of myself because I never move such heavy things. My mom and grandma were also proud of me which made me happy. That is one thing that made me proud.

Once I was playing baseball in 3rd grade when we were tied and I was up to bat. It is the last inning and we have 2 outs. The ball gets pitched. I hit the ball and it goes to the left field and I start sprinting. I hit an inside the park homerun. I won it for my team that made me so happy and proud.

So when I was about eleven I was in 5th grade and we had this marble board making contest. We had to time how long the marble took to get to the bottom and I think I did a really decent job. So I used a piece of wood and painted it and put a lot of glitter, glue, water bottles, sticks, and a bunch of stuff to make the marble go slower. The contest was about friction and what it can do to slow down things. I didn’t win but I thought it was pretty decent.

Last year when I was playing soccer my team was losing 3 to zero at halftime against a rival team. It didn’t seem possible to come back once they scored a 4th goal. Then at the kickoff, I got an open pass and scored. This happened another 3 times to tie the score. Late in the game I got a steal off a loud pass and blew by the other team’s defender and scored. The main reason I was proud was that I was able to save the game for my team.

When I was in elementary school, my school at the time held their annual yearbook contest. The contest has students draw a picture that relates to the theme of the school year. I decided to enter and spent 13 hours on my drawing. After my long, hard work, I was pleased to find out I won! My drawing was on the cover of the annual and I felt very accomplished.

The thing that I’m proud about it the time I helped my dad. The thing that I helped him with was fixing my mom’s car. We had to put a new fan in it. That was really hard to do. That is the thing that I’m proud about.
Jacob Johnson, 7th, Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

I felt really proud of myself when I stole second and third bases during a baseball game. I was running towards second base and the ball was over thrown into the right field, so I went for third and made it.

A time I was proud of something I did was when I beat my personal best time and two of my friends at a track meet last year. I was happy when I finished the race and my coach told me I beat my time at our meet before.

One time the Boy Scout group did a riverside cleanup. My troop, 107 was there to clean up a dirty riverside that was littered and flooded. First we cleaned the shore. There was a lot of trash so this took a while. We were very organized, so after the land cleanup we ate lunch. After that we went in a few boats with nets to clean up trash in the river. The flood caused the trash to move into the river. Overall this really helped the community and I felt good afterward.

Something that I have done that I’m proud of is one time I went fishing. I forget when it was. It was cold outside. I think it was 2 years ago. I had never been fishing before I was at the lake. I caught some, not much. My brother got more but it was my first time doing it and I tried.

The time I felt really proud of something I did was when my dad and I went with my four wheeler and dragged some logs out of the way. I got my four wheeler out of the shed and started it up. We let it warm up and then I shifted into first gear and followed my dad. He put a rope around the tree limbs and pulled it. When I got this one log my dad always told me to keep it steady so I did. I pulled it down the hill, drove around the tree and took the rope off the log and left to go get another log. I got the log and I went around the tree and I flipped the four wheeler. A little gas spilled out but I am okay.

I am a part of Holston Valley Middle School’s Lady Rebel Robotics team. We have two boy teams and my girl team. Last year we had one robotics team, 18000A. We were so lucky to make it through all the elimination rounds and qualified for state. We were so proud!

The time I felt really proud of something I did was when I was in 5th grade. I was in breakfast and the smaller kids needed help opening their milk. I helped them with their milk opening their spoons and forks and cereal. I love helping kids but it all changed in 6th grade.
