My ideal summer camp is to have a playground, trampolines, and a water park in the back. I would also like games inside like basketball, soccer, softball, and kickball. I would like to learn fun hand claps like Don’t Break the Window, Down by the Bank, and much more. What’s your ideal summer camp?
Jazmin Isabella, 4th, Mount Carmel Elementary, Ms. Tipton

I have never been to summer camp but if I was in summer camp I would have to bring a lot of stuff. First, I would get my suitcase out of my closet and I would put my toothbrush in the suitcase and my pajamas, fresh clothes, and a stuffed animal. I would like to play tag, board games, and roast marshmallows on the fire. That is what I would bring and do at summer camp.
Allison Russell, 4th, Mount Carmel Elementary, Ms. Tipton

Have you ever been to a summer camp? If so what camp did you go to? Did you go to a football camp, baseball camp, or maybe even a dance camp? Maybe you didn’t go to a summer camp, but I did. This summer I went to a cheer camp. It was very fun. At cheer camp I learned some cheers, like Who Rocks the House and Junior Falcons. I also learned a dance. The song to the dance was from The Little Mermaid movie. I am so glad I went to cheer camp. I hope you had a good time at your summer camp. Even if you didn’t go to a summer camp this year maybe you can go to one next year and see how you like it.
Raylie Gray, 4th, Mount Carmel Elementary, Ms. Tipton & Mrs. Mowell

Have you ever been at a summer camp? Well just saying I’ve not, but it would be a very good experience for me. I would like it because I love to get outdoors and do cool stuff. I do that a whole lot. I’ve just never been to summer camp before, although I would like to just go there for just a few days, or more than a few. Well maybe I will get to go one day a least.
Ashton Arnold, 4th, Mount Carmel Elementary, Ms. Tipton & Mrs. Mowell

JONESVILLE MIDDLE

When I was 11, I went to Covenant Mission Bible Camp and it was a lot of fun and excitement. I had some really great counselors and all the memories of that summer will love on forever.
Madison King, 7th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Brooks

During the summer, a couple of friends and I went to 4-H Camp and we stayed a week there. While we were there, we had classes we could take. I took volleyball and wilderness life. I had an awesome time!
Katelyn Stafford, 7th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Brooks

I’ve been to summer camp, 4-H to be exact. I did a lot of things there. I shot three different guns: a bb gun, an airsoft gun, and a 22. I also learned how to do leathercraft. Overall, we mostly danced and sang. I had the most amazing time ever there and that’s my overall experience of my summer camp.
Madison McElyea, 7th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Brooks

I have never been to a summer camp. I don’t really want to go to a summer camp. I’ve never liked being without someone I know there. I think summer camp would be better if some of the people I know well were there.
Reece Cook, 7th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Brooks

I have never been to summer camp. I have heard it’s really fun. In fact, there are many activities. There are games, puzzles, and many other things. Some of my friends have been to summer camp, but I have never been. They say there are very fun activities.
Hayden Hobbs, 7th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Brooks

My perfect idea of summer camp would be meeting new people and making new friends. I also would enjoy swimming, fishing and other fun activities. But most of all, I’d like to hang out with friends!
Clayton Moore, 7th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Brooks

My ideal summer camp would be in the middle of the woods with a pond, a pool, a gun range, and lots of good food. I really think kids would love it there. There would be lots of games to play. They could sleep in tents or cabins. They would have lots of outdoor games.
Julie Woodard, 7th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Brooks

I have never been to a summer camp. I feel like summer camp would be fun. What I envision summer camp as is swimming, games, and campfires. I like to hike in the mountains, so summer camp might be fun to go to.
Maddox Hounshell, 7th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Brooks

I personally have not been to a summer camp. I think a summer camp should be fun. If it’s boring, it will not make much money. This is what I think a camp should be like.
Tyler Lee, 7th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Brooks

I have never been to summer camp, but my ideal summer camp would be having a lot of exciting adventures, you make new friends, and when you leave, you know how to do new things you can show your family. In conclusion, this would be my ideal summer camp.
Preslei Chance, 7th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Brooks

I have not been to summer camp. If I did go, I would want it to be fun and roast s’mores over a fire. I would want to go hiking and cave exploring. I think it would be pretty fun.
Blake Will, 7th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Brooks

I went to a summer camp called 4-H Camp. My mom worked there, so I wanted to go. The first class I took was archery. Every morning our teacher would make sure we had the right safety equipment and then, he would let us shoot at the targets. My second class was a class where you got to make slime, volcanoes, and a lot more. My third class was leathercraft. We would get a stamp and hammer the design on the leather. Then when we were done, we could paint the designs. After lunch we would go to our cabins for an hour. Then they would let us play outside. After we would have dinner, they would have something to do with water balloons. Then we would go back to our cabins to sleep.
KK Belcher, 7th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Brooks

I have never been to summer camp. If I did go to summer camp, I would just like to sleep mostly. I don’t know what I would really want it to be like, as long as there is sleep and some fun stuff involved. Then, I’d love to go. I love food also.
Riley Brock, 7th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Brooks

I have never been to summer camp, but if I go in the future, I would like to do many outdoor activities such as swimming, camping, and also learning stuff for the upcoming school year. So that’s exactly what I would like to do if I went to summer camp.
Ethan Gordon, 7th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Brooks

I’ve never been to summer camp, however, I would love to go to 4-H this summer. The best summer camp, in my opinion, would be in the woods. When a summer camp is in the woods, it gives you more of a chance to explore. I think it would be fun if you were able to pick your own spot and they help set up a tent and you have partners to help you make fires, explore, and help you get better understandings of how to survive in the woods. This would be the best summer camp for me.
Payton Eldridge, 7th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Brooks

I have not been to summer camp. I would imagine summer camp to be really fun. I would probably swim a lot because I love to swim. I could probably go zip-lining; I think that would be fun. If I went to summer camp I think it would be a blast!
Bella Rouse, 7th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Brooks

I have not been to summer camp. I have heard things about it though. I have heard you get to play games, and do different kinds of crafts, and sometimes you get to swim, depending on what camp you go to; but I think the best thing is you could make new friends.
Hailey Parsons, 7th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Brooks

I’ve never been to summer camp. I would like to go see what it would be like to see the sky, be around a campfire, sing songs, and be around my friends so we all could be together. Being a part of nature would be nice with others around. Maybe someday I can go and have some fun.
Sierra Woodard, 7th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Brooks

I have not been to summer camp. A few years ago I was going to go to summer camp, but I didn’t get to. I would like to go sometime though, so I can learn and have fun.
Allison Standifer, 7th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Brooks

I have not been to summer camp. If I was to go, I guess it would be fun. Only if they have horses because horses are my favorite animal!
Evany Collins, 7th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Brooks

Yes, I have been to summer camp and it was called 4-H. it’s super fun. I recommend 4-H to everyone! It has everything, gaga ball, foursquare, and bubble art! Some of the classes are art, swimming, wilderness life, animal farm and leathercraft. You get breakfast, lunch, dinner, and a snack! I would definitely go there!
Jessie Barton, 7th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Brooks

I have never been to summer camp. I would really like to go to one though. I think it would be really fun. I would want it to be close to home in case something was to happen. While I’m there I would like to fish, swim, and make more friends. That is what I want my summer camp to be like.
Kaelyn Pendergraft, 7th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Brooks

I have never been to summer camp, but I have heard that it is super fun! When I think of summer camp, I imagine there are rows of cabins on your left and right. In the middle there would be a huge campfire. We would be surrounded by trees. Right in front of the campfire there would be a barn with different types of activities and games. There would be a swimming pool, too! That’s how I imagine my summer camp.
Willow Britton, 7th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Brooks

I have been to summer camp three years in a row. Last year I took archery for one of my classes and I shot a playing card right in the middle. This year I took sharpshooters and I shot a clothespin in half.
Matthew Moore, 7th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Brooks

This past summer I went to 2 different camps. The first one I went to was Emory and Henry Scholars Camp which, of course, took place at Emory and Henry College. It was pretty fun. We got to take three out of a various amount of classes. I can’t seem to remember the exact classes I took, but I remember that I still had a good time.
Emma Fortner, 7th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Brooks

I would love to go to a basketball summer camp with lots of NBA players. It would be so great! I would love if LeBron James was there and Kyrie Irving! Another think that I would love is if we could play games with the NBA players. That’s what my ideal summer camp would be.
Brynnen Pendergraft, 7th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Brooks

This summer I went to Vacation Bible School. We do a lot of fun stuff. Every year I go, they come from South Carolina. We do all kinds of different things. This year we learned how when you’re alone or lost, Jesus rescues. I learned things I didn’t know, like how someone can give Jesus their problems. I met one of my friends there this year. We played one of my favorite games called “noodle ball.” You take a pool noodle and a kickball or soccer ball and you have to use the noodle to hit it around. My team won this year. I am counting down the days until I can go. I can’t wait!
Shirley Washburn, 7th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Brooks

Emory and Henry Scholars Camp was the most fun thing I did this summer. The classes were extraordinary. I learned how to build a fire, computer programming, and acting. Emory and Henry is a great place to meet new people and learn new things.
Chloe Willis, 7th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Brooks
