My favorite holiday memory…was last year. My cat was playing with the ornaments on the Christmas tree on Christmas Eve, I was standing behind the tree. Then all of a sudden I jumped out! The cat froze in placed and puffed up. He was there for ten minutes before he moved.

My favorite holiday memory is on Christmas. We were at my nana’s house and we were talking about Santa because my cousin still believed in him. When my mom asked her what she wanted from Santa she said, “You know that Santa is not real, right?” My mom said, “Yes he is.” Then my cousin said, “It’s okay you don’t have to pretend anymore.” My mom said, “Yes he is.” My cousin said, “Then you’re just weird.” That is my favorite holiday memory.

My favorite holiday memory was on Christmas. I was about nine years old. My mamaw handed me a box and when I opened it I found…my papaw’s underwear! I immediately started laughing and saying, “I opened it and pulled out underwear!” I still sit and watch the video of me doing it. Welcome to a casual Christmas with the Ellis family!

My favorite holiday memory would have to be, on Christmas Day one year. My sisters, Ava and Mia, and I woke up and my mom had fixed us a whole Christmas dinner with chocolate chip pancakes, eggs, bacon, and hot cocoa with peppermint candy canes. After that we made our way to the living room where all our presents were, my dad set up the camera and started the tape as we opened our presents. I remember that year because it was the year I got the most presents.

Last year on Christmas Eve. That night I went to sleep. At about midnight, quarter to one I woke up and couldn’t go back to sleep. My parents were still awake so I went in and asked if I could open my presents. After we were done my dad got up, hugged me and said, “Thank you, you took me back to my childhood on the farm.” I smiled. That is and always will be my favorite holiday memory.

My favorite holiday memory is on Thanksgiving because, on Thanksgiving night we put up the Christmas tree. My favorite part about putting up the Christmas tree is putting on the ornaments. Some people say why the ornaments? It’s because on one Thanksgiving night we were putting all the ornaments on the Christmas tree and I picked up the first ornament. My eyes saw the ornament was the one I made when I was little. I couldn’t believe it was still in the box of ornaments.

Chelsea Ayers, 6th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Gibson

My favorite holiday memory was Christmas a few years ago. On Christmas Eve my brothers and sisters pranked me by putting my gifts in the attic and made me believe I didn’t get any gifts. It turned out to be really funny.

My favorite holiday memory was a few years ago during Thanksgiving. We were preparing Thanksgiving dinner and inviting all of our family over to our house. While my grandma and grandpa were cooking the food, I was talking to my family in the living room. When the food was done we all came into the kitchen and prayed, then we all ate at the table and talked, we had a good time.

My favorite holiday memory is December 25, 2016. I remember waking up in my pjs, walking into the living room looking at the beautiful Christmas tree with all the lights on it and lots of gifts under it for me. There is nothing better that walking into the living room and seeing all the gifts just for you! And this wasn’t just an ordinary Christmas, I got an iPad and it was awesome. So that is my favorite holiday memory.

Nicholas Kimberlin, 6th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Gibson

Christmas of 2016. It was sort of dark outside. I had gone to my father’s house, it wasn’t like any other holiday. Instead of being serious and “holly jolly” we just had a good time. We just laughed and had fun! We ran through the house and sang “Jingle Bells.” We almost knocked the Christmas tree over a couple times, but it survived. It was just amazing like a special kind of fun. That was my favorite because it was a very different kind of special!

Reece Cook, 6th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Gibson

My favorite holiday memory is, well it was two years ago on Thanksgiving. We went on a trip to Fort Myers, Florida. We flew in an airplane for one hour and thirty minutes. We left at McGhee Tyson airport in Knoxville, Tennessee. We stayed in Florida for Thanksgiving and a week. It was probably the best trip of my life.

Jace Cochran, 6th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Gibson

Mine was Thanksgiving a couple years ago when my papaw was alive. My momma’s family and my daddy’s sat down together at one big table. We held hand in hand and did prayer. And it’s my precious cousin Janie’s birthday and the kids sit at the kids’ table. The grownups get rowdy we say. But I didn’t see both of my families were there all together. But now I know it was one of the best memories ever.

Carrie, 6th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Gibson

Here is my favorite memory on Christmas. My mom said that she was taking my present back! But when I was opening my last present on Christmas it was the present she said she was taking back but she didn’t! It was an Xbox One and I also got a phone! It happened last year. That is a Christmas I will never forget.

One of my favorite memories about Christmas was when I was young. When my sister and I woke up on Christmas morning we ran down the stairs and into our mom and dad’s bedroom. Finally they woke up and we went to the living room and opened presents. After we were done opening presents, I had got a tent for Christmas so when my sister and I were done playing with our brand new toys that we had gotten we both went in my tent and had fallen asleep. A few hours later we went outside to play in the snow. When we came back inside our mom made us some hot cocoa.
