Then, they might be friends too. I would help them with study guides or the crosswords in class. I hope you helped a new girl or boy in your class.
Molly McDivitt, 4th, Miller Perry Elementary, Ms. Jeffers

Do you have a new student attending your school? Maybe he or she is shy and needs a friend. Here are some ways I’d help a new student. Unlike you or me, he or she may be lonely. I would become his or her friend! I would introduce them to be their friend. Then, they can decide. Finally, I would ask if they’d want a tour or not. If he or she agrees, first I would show them to the related arts rooms. Then the cafeteria and one or two computer labs. If I had a new student attend my school this is just what I would do!
Olivia  Smith, 4th, Miller Perry Elementary, Ms. Jeffers

Feel free to join our school anytime. If you joined our school, first thing I would do is show you around the school. Like the bathrooms, classrooms, and related arts rooms. Then I would introduce you to everyone like the other students, teachers, and related art teachers. Next you should be feeling nice, calm, and welcomed here. We are very friendly here so come anytime. Plus the food is great, sometimes.
Ryan Neal, 4th, Miller Perry Elementary, Ms. Jeffers

Oh, hi there welcome to our new school. Oh sorry, I didn’t see you there. I have to go show our new student around our school, see you later. Here we go! First I have to show you my principal, Mr. Wilson. He is very nice. If you carpool you will see him every day. Next up is the science lab. We have done many experiments there but my favorite was when we tested something on dry ice. Last up are my favorite teachers Ms. Jeffers, Mrs. Reynolds, and Mrs. McGee. They are the best! Bye, see you tomorrow! Oh hi again. Stop by and come visit us. Maybe I can even show you around!
Samuel Perry, 4th, Miller Perry Elementary, Ms. Jeffers

Hi, I want to tell you what I would do to welcome a new student! I would definitely give them a little bit of candy! Oh hi there! New here? Well, don’t worry because you’re going to have a blast! The first thing I would do is make a big banner that said “Welcome to Miller Perry”! So they will feel super welcome here at Miller Perry! The very next thing I would do is be their lunch buddy because we all know it is scary when you have no one to sit with on your first day! Then at play time I would introduce them to all my friends and then we would play one of our favorite games, four square! We all know it is pretty scary on your first day but at Miller Perry, we will turn that frown upside down!
Sydney Roberts, 4th, Miller Perry Elementary, Ms. Jeffers

Hi, I’m Tanner what is your name? You guys are here. Sorry, talking to the new kid. How would you treat a new kid? Well I’m going to tell you how I would. First, I would give a tour of Miller Perry. Tanner Mims, 4th, Miller Perry Elementary, Ms. Jeffers

Have you ever been responsible for showing a new student around? Well I am about to tell you about what I would do. First, I would show him around. That way he wouldn’t think that lunch was in math class. Next, I would tell him about how mean Mrs. Jeffers is even though she isn’t mean, she just messes around. Last I would play with him during recess. That is what I would do if I had to welcome a new student.
Warren Hamilton, 4th, Miller Perry Elementary, Ms. Jeffers

First, you can introduce yourself. Second, you can show them around. Last, you can help them with their locker.
Chelsea Ayers, 6th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Gibson

I would welcome a new student to my school by introducing myself. Then, I would ask them some questions about themselves like their name and what grade they’re in. lastly, I would ask if they need any help with anything, like finding their classes.
Mia Jerrell, 6th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Gibson

If there is a new student at your school and you want to welcome them, this is a list of things you can do to welcome him/her: Become their friend. Show them how to use their locker. Tell them about what’s been going on in school. Show them everyone (so they can make some friends). Just be a nice person.
Raven Burgan, 6th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Gibson

When most kids hear that there’s a new kid on the way they’re like, “Gosh, here comes a snobby, unappreciative kid.” Once they come it takes a little bit to get to know them and once you get to know them it’s a different story. They’re the sweetest person ever and doesn’t do anything to hurt anyone. So since they show me respect, I’ll show them good respect back, just be nice, and show them how nice we are here at Jonesville Middle School and there’s nothing better than to show a little love.
Madison King, 6th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Gibson

There are many ways to welcome a new student. Some ways I like to is helping them with their locker because it can be hard to open sometimes, sit with them at lunch, and show them around because it can be confusing in a new school. Those are some ways I like to welcome a new student.
Chloe Willis, 6th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Gibson

One way is to first introduce yourself. Then, you can be friends with them and show them around. If you have any classes with them you could help them.
KK Belcher, 6th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Gibson

I will help them and show them around by telling them where everything is.
Kendra Bledsoe, 6th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Gibson

There are a lot of ways to welcome a new student, such as showing them around, helping with their locker, and being nice. I would choose showing them around because it’s important to know where your classrooms are.
Tyler Lee, 6th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Gibson

There are a lot of ways to welcome a new student. First, you can show them around. Next, you can help them with their lockers, you can talk to them, and welcome them. You don’t have to do these in any certain order.
Madison McElyea, 6th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Gibson

Well, when they are new they probably don’t have any friends so you can sit with them on the bleachers. Then, get permission from a teacher to show them to their class. Also, you could teach them how to play the game in gym. Finally, sit and talk to them at lunch and introduce them to your friends.
Caylea Ellis, 6th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Gibson

When a new student comes to a new school, they are usually nervous or scared. I think the best way to welcome a new student to the school is simply introducing yourself. Being their friend, helping them around, and inviting them to sit with you and your friends at lunch. These are the best ways to welcome a new student to your school.
Shirley Washburn, 6th, Jonesville Middle, Mrs. Gibson
