If I had to cook dinner for my entire family I would make spaghetti, and macaroni and cheese because nobody in my family is a vegetarian and most of them like spaghetti. Some don’t like noodles, but they like macaroni and cheese. So I could make them that too if they don’t like noodles. The two food I would make for them depends on what I can actually make and not just say I know how to make them.
Gabriel Farley, 7th, Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

If I had to make dinner for my family here is what I would make. First I would make some ham because my family likes ham. Then I would make mashed potatoes and green beans because my family always cooks those on Thanksgiving and Christmas. I would also cook some vegetables, mainly for people in my family that don’t like the other stuff. That is what dinner I would make for my family.
Gage Southern, 7th, Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

My dinner would start off with steak as the main course. On the side there would be biscuits, fried pickles, potatoes, and drinks. The fried pickles are for my sister. Biscuits are for everyone, and the potatoes are for my dad. That is what I would cook for my family.
Gavin Roberts, 7th, Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

First of all, I have cooked for my whole entire family and I would like to tell you what I made. So I made goulash. If you don’t know what it is it’s a vegetable soup with beans and macaroni and a lot of tomatoes. It’s a really good and healthy thing to eat. It has proteins, meats, and vegetables. My grandma’s recipe is her own, she made it up. It has a lot of different foods and it’s really good with homemade cornbread. When I cook, I bake it in a pan. So when my family ate it, they loved it because it reminded them of my grandma (p.s. I do miss her very much. She died about 2 years ago). So when I cook I don’t just make one thing. So goulash and cornbread with homemade sugar cookies that we all love. My sister and I used to help mama cook food and cookies so I remember she was a very good cook who believed in people to cook and not burn everything.
Gracie Perry, 7th, Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

What I want to make for my family is for the first course, this bread with BBQ sauce or butter. The second thing is round tip steak with steak sauce with some homemade fries. Maybe some spicy chicken sandwiches with mac and cheese with pickles and mayonnaise on it or with ketchup or BBQ sauce. For the third part is Angus hamburgers with fries, ketchup mayonnaise, lettuce, tomato, and onion. The dessert is chocolate cake or frozen custard ice cream and with tea Mountain Dew, Coke, water, lemonade to drink with it. More dessert is maybe cookies and cake. Chopped up steak for steak bites.
Ian Smith, 7th, Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

If I had to cook for my entire family I would probably make steak and fries the reason why I would make that is because my family loves steak and fries. My family said that if they only had to eat one meal it would be that one. So that’s what I would fix for my entire family.
Jacob Johnson, 7th, Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

I would cook oven baked macaroni and cheese. It starts off in the pot. After you’re done you lay one layer of macaroni. Then one layer of salt. After that you lay 2 layers of cheese. Then you do that one more time over again. You put it in the oven on 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until you think is good.
Jacob Turpin, 7th, Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

If I had to cook dinner for my family I would make ham, mashed potatoes, and stuffing. I would because it’s what we always have for Christmas and Thanksgiving and it’s always good and my family likes it. It would be like having the last Christmas again.
James Cross, 7th, Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

If I were to cook dinner for family, I would probably cook potato soup with rolls and for dessert, brownies. I would cook this because I love potato soup and my mom says I make the best brownies. I may need help through because I’ve only ever made corn and mashed potatoes for Christmas. So, I possibly could make it (no promises though) but I might have to have a backup plan if it goes wrong. My mom almost always makes it for me so I feel I should make it for her to repay her for this.
John Wise, 7th, Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

If I had to make dinner for my family I would make mac and cheese. This is always my go-to food. Why? You might ask, because that’s all I know how to make. Mac and cheese is simple, easy, and good to eat so why not make it. You can also make different kinds of mac and cheese so your taste buds never get bland!
Kaden Ward, 7th, Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

I would cook tacos and Mexican rice for my family because my family and I like Mexican food. I do a lot. I like to go out to eat it but if I didn’t go I would make it for us. I would have chips and salsa too. Just like it was the same thing. We have tacos sometimes. We make chicken but I like when it’s beef.
Kailee Gross, 7th, Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

If I cooked dinner for my entire family it would be Salisbury steak with fries, mashed potatoes, corn, and green beans. Salisbury steak because I love Salisbury steak. It’s just so good with all the grave and most importantly, the steak. The reason I chose fries is because it’s really common to have fries in a meal. That’s what I get every time my family and I go out for dinner. I get a burger with a side of fries. When I was little I did not like mash potatoes at all. That’s what my parents told me and now I like them. They are really good. Corn because my whole family likes corn but mostly sweet corn is my favorite. I don’t like green beans but you are supposed to think of others so I did. The meal would be really good.
Kase Newman, 7th, Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

For my mom, dad, and me I would make steak, mac and cheese, gravy for the steak, mashed potatoes and some veggies for dinner. The veggies would specifically be for my parents because they want more than just carbs for dinner. Later I would serve a honey bun cake for dessert.
Katelyn Jones, 7th, Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

If had to make my family dinner I would make the ultimate feast. I would start off with sides of mash potatoes, corn, fries, salad, etc. then with a main course of ham and/or fried chicken. For the end I would have a make your own sundae for dessert. This is what my family usually does for family gatherings.
Katelyn McGlothlin, 7th, Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

If I had to cook dinner for my entire family, I would make roast beef with vegetable with mac n cheese. Also a chicken casserole with a garden salad and a tuna salad with parsley and croutons and olive oil. For dessert I would make a Butterfinger cake and a pineapple upside down cake to eat, to make a good, healthy balanced meal.
Katelyn Cross, 7th, Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

Even though I’m a horrible cook I would still try to make a good supper. The entree would be steak and shrimp. I’d need some help making it though. The sides would be a baked potato, mac n cheese, and a salad. That sounds like a dream supper to me. Plus all of my family adores these foods.
Levi Price, 7th, Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

If I had to cook dinner for my entire family I would make turkey with gravy, mac n cheese, sausage balls, fried chicken, and homemade sweet tea. My reasoning for this is my cousin likes turkey, everyone loves mac n cheese, my dad loves sausage balls, everyone loves fried chicken, and my papaw loves sweet tea. Emphasis on the word “loves.”
Luke Dickerson, 7th, Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

If I had to cook for my entire family I would cook tacos. I would make tacos because it’s easy to make and my family loves tacos, especially when my dad and brother come home from work. We also make salsa to go along with the tacos because my dad and brother like spicy stuff with a drink of horchata, which is a drink of milk and rice.
Luz Orozco, 7th, Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

I would fix a buffet just like at Golden Corral, but smaller. I would have mac and cheese, potatoes, fries, rolls, spaghetti, fish, turkey, pizza, and steak. I would also have a fruit bar with bananas, strawberry, blueberry, apples, grapes, raspberries, cantaloupe, watermelons, and blackberries. I would fix them a dessert bar with ice cream, with flavors like vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, sherbet, and cookies and cream. I would have pies like apple pie, pecan pie, cheesecake, and pumpkin pie. I would also have a chocolate fountain. You can dip strawberries, Rice Krispies and marshmallows in the chocolate fountain. The reason I said this is because my family loves food.
Madyson Doss, 7th, Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

If I had to cook for my family I would make Hamburger Helper. The reason I chose this is because it’s easy to make and enough to feed my family. I’m not bad at cooking but it will be simple and easy. At least it will feed my family!
Mark Shaffer, 7th, Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

If I had to cook for my entire family I would make chicken and dumplings. For sides, mashed potatoes and mac n cheese. Also some rolls. I would want to make these things because it’s one of my favorite meals.
Micah Jessee, 7th, Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

If I cooked a whole meal for my family I would cook what we call pizza sticks. We take biscuit dough and put pizza sauce also, half of a cheese stick and put it in the oven. Then I’ll make garlic butter and put it on top after it cools down a little bit. I would cook this because I know everyone likes it and it’s very simple to make.
Ocianna Church, 7th, Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

I would make a veggie soup for my family. That way they can be on the healthier side of things. Veggies and fruits are what the soup would have in it. It’s the healthiest dinner a person could ask for!
Quinton Chapman, 7th, Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

I’d probably make them some rigati spaghetti. I’d put garlic, paprika, and some mint for an extra burst of taste in it. Now, I’ve never cooked before so this will be an experimental plate. For the side dish I’d cook salmon with lemon and lime. Oh, and you can’t forget the soy sauce under the salmon, it gives it flavor. Some sushi and wasabi. My father can’t have spices so I’ll just cook him some ramen noodles with a pinch, just a pinch of salt. This sounds like a 5 course restaurant food, but I’ll try my best not to mess it up. I’ll burn the salmon probably, but that is what I would cook.
