HOLSTON VALLEY MIDDLE

If I had to cook dinner for my entire family, I would make something that everyone would eat. What doesn’t get eaten will be left over. I would make macaroni and cheese, but I would add something to it. When they eat it they will eat where it will fill them up.
Aaron Robertstad, 7th, Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

I would make cheesy ranch burgers. The reason I would make this is because it is fast and easy. They are also very good. Plus, I love cheeseburgers. So that is why I would make cheesy ranch burgers.
Aaryanna Cross, 7th, Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

If I had to cook dinner for my entire family, I would make a bunch of things. I would start off by making turkey and ham because my family loves ham and some love turkey. Then I would make some mashed potatoes and green beans. Then I would make deviled eggs, potato salad, macaroni salad, and chicken casserole with rolls. After all that I would make dessert. I would make cherry delight, eclair pie, pumpkin pie (helps for my grandma’s cancer), and chocolate covered strawberries.
Alexus Stewart, 7th, Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

For my mom, Meme, and me, I would create a steak/salad dinner. My mom is a vegetarian so I could make her salads along with other sides like potatoes, corn, or peas. My Meme and I could eat steak and the caramel icing cake.
Anna Campbell, 7th, Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

I would make hamburgers and hot dogs. For the side I would make fries. Finally I would make snow cream or ice cream. I would make these things because to me, they’re my favorite fast foods, side, and ice cream. That’s what I would cook for my family.
Anthony Harley, 7th, Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

What I would make for my family is hamburgers because my whole family likes hamburgers and they say that I make good hamburgers. What else I would make is mash potatoes to go with it and corn to go with it too. I love it when I make hamburgers. They taste really good when I make them and when I make mash potatoes and corn. And what else I would make is Hamburger Helper because it’s easy to fix and I cook that well too.
April Odum, 7th, Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

If I had to cook for my entire family, I would make a lot. I would make ham, corn, peas, mashed potatoes, yams, turkey, rolls, and deviled eggs. I would also make a lot of dessert. I would either buy or make pumpkin pie, strawberry shortcake, apple pie, and banana pudding. I would make or buy all of those things and tell my family if they wanted to bring something they can. My family is a big family so we might have to make 2 of each.
Audrey Perry, 7th, Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

It has come down to that time where people my age have to begin to take responsibility for adult actions like cooking dinner. My family is a hunting and fishing machine, meaning anything we catch or kill, we eat. So one or our favorite things to eat would have to be back strap, meat that lines the spine of the deer. What the best to go with back strap would have to be some good buttered mash potatoes and mac and cheese. Both my brother and sister adore a good back strap, mash potatoes, and some mac and cheese but overall they drool over some Crescent rolls. By the ending of making all this food, everyone would be full before making my great-grandma’s recipe for peach cobbler. I have cooked a lot of meals in my house but never have I ever cooked an ancient peach cobbler. Due to that being said I want to take that risk and cook something that would bring joy to everyone.
Berkley Helbert, 7th, Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

If I had to cook for my family I would make Hamburger Helper because it is the easiest thing to make, in my opinion. I would make two boxes because my brothers tend to eat most of the food that my mother and I cook!
Billy Parker, 7th, Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

I would cook a shrimp buffet with crab and sushi. My whole family likes seafood. I like it too. Personally, it’s my favorite. My family loves crab legs and some of us like sushi. I would also cook potatoes and cake for sides and dessert.
Blake Hayes, 7th, Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

If I had to cook dinner for my entire family, I would make chicken and fries for my brother because that’s all my brother eats. I would make my mom chili cheese fries because she loves them. She always gets chili fries when we go out to eat. I wouldn’t make myself anything and I would just eat chicken nuggets, fries, and chili cheese fries. I would rather make my mom and brother happy.
Briana Combs, 7th, Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

I would cook a roast with potatoes and carrots. For the side, I would serve some dinner rolls. The reason I would make this is because my family is a special thing to me and I want to make something they would enjoy. One of the best things about it is that my family would help me.
Caleb Smithson, 7th, Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

What I would cook for my entire family would be steak, pork chops, hot dogs, hamburgers, macaroni, green beans, baked potatoes, and death by chocolate. The reason I will make these is because if they didn’t like one thing they can have another. Some people in my family are picky. My grandmother is a really good cook so she would help me with what to do. My family is the best in the world and I couldn’t ask for any other people. That is what I would cook for my family.
Carmine Parson, 7th, Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

If I had to cook dinner for my entire family I would make ribs, potato salad, mashed potatoes, beans, and deviled eggs. I would make that because ribs is my family’s favorite food of all time and so is the other stuff. I would make it all homemade because homemade food is always better than store bought food that you just cook and don’t even put any work into making it.
Chelsea Woods, 7th, Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

I would cook just like a Thanksgiving meal. I just think that mashed potatoes with turkey, ham, and homemade rolls is like the best meal ever. It’s always my family’s favorite meal. Almost every single holiday we have a “Thanksgiving” meal. The reason we call it that is because a long time ago on Thanksgiving, we normally didn’t do like the rolls or mashed potatoes, so one day we tried something new and so we added mashed potatoes and homemade rolls and it was so good that now on every holiday we choose the “Thanksgiving” meal.
Chloe Wise, 7th, Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

So first what I will make is tea so later we can have a tea party but for my food we will have steak because my family loves steak. Then I will make mac and cheese because my family can’t have steak without mac and cheese or some other pasta. Some other dish I will make is biscuits and some corn.
Christian Ridgely, 7th, Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

For an appetizer I would have garlic bread with a side of butter. This appetizer is “all you can eat” so you could eat it with your entree. My entree would be spaghetti. Mainly because you can’t go wrong with it. For dessert I would just have brownies because everyone loves brownies.
Clay Sherfey, 7th, Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

If I had to cook dinner for my entire family, for the main meal I would make something like beef surprise where I brown the meat, mix mac and cheese together and put it in the oven with cheese on top, bottom, and sides. I would make two sides, salad and baked potatoes. For dessert I would make brownies and cake. The reason why I would make these items is because it’s something that my family likes or something I have been dying to make, like beef surprise as I like to call it.
Clayton Carr, 7th, Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

If I had to cook dinner for my entire family I would make BBQ chicken, tater tot casserole, potato salad, macaroni and cheese, fried okra, and French fries. I would fix this food to give my family an option of what they would like, and to fix the food my papaw liked before he died on May 30, 2018. My papaw loved this food and my family loves this food. The family loves this kind of food because it’s good, it tastes great and my mom has shared these recipes with me and my papaw shared these recipes. With the recipes he gave and shared with me, I will make good food.
Dakota Carrier, 7th, Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

If I had to cook for my family I would probably fix steak with mac n cheese with fresh trout. Last but not least I would attempt to fix beans. I would fix steak because everyone in my family likes steak. I would cook mac n cheese because the flavor is just really good. For the fresh trout, they taste really good in general, well depending on who cooks it. The beans are very good but the reason why I said attempt I just in case my dad doesn’t give me the secret recipe. I hope you enjoyed what I would cook for my family.
Dalton Gorley, 7th, Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

I would make tacos and burritos because my family and I have always loved them. I would make at least 9 or 10 so everyone gets two. I would even make tiny ones for my baby sister because she loves them too. We found this out when we got Taco Bell and we gave her bits of a taco and she loved it.
Darren Harless, 7th, Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

If I had to cook dinner for my entire family, I would cook pot roast as the main course. The roast will have carrots and onions in it. For three sides I will cook mashed potatoes, corn, and green beans. The mashed potatoes will have butter and bacon bits in it. The green beans will have chicken broth flavoring in it and the corn will have butter, salt, and pepper in it. I would cook this because there would be enough for everyone. If I had to cook dinner for my family this is what I would cook.
Devin Depew, 7th, Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

If I had to cook dinner for my entire family what I would probably cook is mushroom hamburgers with mash potatoes and Lima beans and for another option, salad. And the reason I would choose to make this is because everybody in my household loves it. We have a secret recipe for it and it makes it even better that the plain original version. But if it was up to me my entire family would be having mushroom burgers.
Emily Childress, 7th, Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

If I had to cook food for my entire family I would cook an apple pie for dessert. (But only gluten free foods because my mom is allergic to gluten and she can only eat certain foods like she can’t have beef, pork, eggs, blueberries, bacon, strawberries, cantaloupe, milk, wheat, etc. and msg.) I would cook chicken legs with BBQ but only the kind she makes that she can have. I would also cook corn, green beans, potato salad, asparagus, and one of the whole family’s favorites—homemade stuffing! My family loves stuffing. The reason why I would pick to cook this is because my family loves when my mom cooks this. So I figured I would try to cook this, if I had to cook.
Emma Saxton, 7th, Holston Valley Middle, Mrs. Taylor

If I had to cook for my family I would start off with a salad. Then we would move on to spaghetti and garlic bread. After that we would have chocolate cake. That’s what I would fix for my family. These are the items I would fix because it seems easier to make than other stuff and all of my family loves spaghetti.
