On the 4th of July my family does a lot of things. We have a cookout and we eat hamburgers, hot dogs, watermelon, cantaloupe, and ice cream. Then we swim and ride four-wheelers. After that we go and watch Jonesville’s fireworks. Then we come home and shoot off our own fireworks. I remember one year my crazy uncle Joey knocked over one of the 50-shot fireworks and they were shooting everywhere. I celebrate the 4th of July with my mom, dad, brothers, cousins, aunts, uncles, mamaw, and papaw. I love celebrating the 4th of July because it represents the writing of the Declaration of Independence. That’s how my family celebrates the 4th of July.

On the 4th of July, my family and I did some awesome stuff! We went to my mamaw’s and papaw’s to eat. Then we went to our land to shoot fire works! My mamaw and papaw came down. And Joey came down with his son. We shot off a lot of fireworks! My favorite one was blue, it was glittery! It went BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! The next one will be even better, can’t wait to write about it!

My family and I celebrate Fourth of July by having a cookout. In the cookout we eat steak, hamburgers, corn on the cob, and chicken. We always have it at my aunt’s house. She fixes her homemade sauce for the chicken. At night we have fireworks. The fireworks are pretty! My favorite one is the galaxy firework. It’s really pretty in the night because it shows up better. My aunt invited me and my sister to stay the night. I love the Fourth of July, it’s my favorite holiday!

On the 4th of July my dad, friend, and I had a campfire in my back yard and ate marshmallows over the fire. Although, there were a lot of bugs. That, I do not like about camping but my friend and I climbed trees to the very top. When she got to the top, the top of it broke off and she fell along way down. She hit me as she landed on the ground and she fell on me. Next year we’re going to do the same thing except the falling part. It was the best 4th of July ever!

On Independence Day my family and I had a cook out and ate hot dogs. After we ate hot dogs we went swimming for an hour or two and without knowing everyone was already roasting marshmallows without me! That evening after everyone including me was stuffed with marshmallows and weenies we all went to go put on dry clothes. We finally went to go to see the fireworks. One of them was even shaped like a smiley face. It was an amazing Independence Day!

On the 4th of July, the first thing my family and I always do is have a cookout. My family makes the best burgers, hot dogs, and chicken strips! They are so good and tender and juicy. The second thing we do is go to Leeman Field Park and watch fireworks. They’re so bright and pretty. The third thing we do is set off fireworks at our house. We always buy the fountains. The fountains spark up all different colors. I got hit with a bottle rocket in the leg last 4th of July, but I was okay. It just left a bruise. Sometimes we will go visit family on the 4th. The 4th of July is my favorite holiday!

We also got to see my great uncle from my mom’s side when we were there! We went to the lake too and maybe I didn’t want to get in it because of the fish. Either way it was a lot of fun!

Most years my family celebrates Fourth of July by going to an annual pool party at my aunt’s coworker’s house. It’s right up the hill from Pennington Park, so we always have a beautiful view of the fireworks from there. We don’t always celebrate Independence Day but when we do, we don’t use fireworks or spark stick things. We usually just have a bonfire and grill out. It may not be the best way to celebrate, but at least we did something to show some type of celebration.
