On Independence Day my cousins and I played this game called color tag. We are on teams, girls vs boys. There is a captain on both teams and if the boys tags the girls’ captain the boys win. Then we have hot dogs and hamburgers with tater tots. At the end of the day we all sit near the bonfire while we cook s’mores and set off fireworks. Sometimes we have a pool party.

I’ve learned that Independence Day is here because the Declaration of Independence and the birth of the United States of America as an independent nation. So yeah I can’t wait for Independence Day next year!

After that we go to a lake and we bring a grill, and some hot dogs to grill. Then all the little kids swim in the lake while the parents grill hot dogs. And last but not least we go back to Dungannon to watch the fireworks and then we go home.

Then while we wait for the fireworks show we get in the pool. When it is about time for fireworks my whole family sits in the backyard and watches the Dungannon fireworks. Then it is time for bed.
